You've always liked longer hair, haven't you?
[After all, Akeldama's hair is glorious, and Biffy's hair himself, while not extremely long, has always had those waves and curls....
so maybe that means he kept it long on purpose before coming back, since he could have asked Alexia and you know he's particular about his grooming.]
